Description: Recent Indian stone knife blade found in Hearth 11 in the southeast corner of the site. This blade probably would have been set in a wooden or bone handle.
 

Name: Recent Indian/Beothuk Side Notched Arrowhead

Dimensions: Length: 26 mm; Width: 19 mm.

Date Range: Circa AD 1250 - AD 1600.

Culture: Beothuk
Description: Recent Indian/Beothuk side notched arrowhead made of grey chert. This is one of the few side notched projectile points found at Russell's Point.

Description: Wrought iron nail found in the northwestern corner of the site. This nail and a number of others found at the site must have been acquired by the Beothuk from European fishermen. Such nails were sometimes altered by the Beothuk to make iron tools.
