November 25, 1612 [at Cupers Cove/Cupids]
[We were] in doubt to be put out of the bay & [were] making accompt that we had great good hap if we could recover the road [at Belle Isle] from whence we came. And while we were thus perplexed, the wind came to the North and brought us in safely, God be praised, to Cupers Cove by tenne of the clock in the forenoon the 25th day of this month of November where we understood that the shallop, which we left in Green Bay eleven days ago, was cast away the morrow after but all the men saved, who put the sail & their apparel in safety ashore & came homeward by land to Carbonera in 8 days having nothing to eat but what they could find by the way & from thence came in safety home on Sunday the 22th of this month.
Presently, after the barke was arrived, the wind was westerly.
