October 19, 1612 [near Catalina]
We put out again [from Bay de Verde] the winde NW, a stiff gale. We crossed Trinitie bay, & came to a roade under the land good for a [tear in manuscript] westerly, & Northerly winds. There was hard by us ane Island whereby we took it to be that which is called S[t] Catalinaes. It lyeth from Baccaleau NNW. Here we road without being able to go ashore for want of a boat until the 21st day.
